Men who mentored me: Kevin Mock

Men who mentored me: Kevin Mock

Kevin Mock was, at first, my Junior High Sunday School teacher but he has become more than that now. He took an interest in a weird teenager and decided he would pour his life into mine. We would spend time before and after class talking about many different things. He was never too busy to talk with me. As I grew older and moved on from his Sunday School class, he still took an interest in my life! He would ask how things were going and developed a close friendship with me. Even after I was out of the youth group and in college, he would talk with me and see how things were going when I was back home from college. Growing up in the church, he spent hours talking with and praying for me and then I had the privilege of working for a year along side him in the youth ministry as our church was looking for a new youth pastor. He allowed me to try out ideas in the youth group and helped to mentor and guide me on how to work with teenagers and young people. Even after I became a youth pastor at another church, he still had an interest in my life and would be interested in how things were going in my ministry! He was just a Sunday school teacher to an awkward teenager, but he decided to pour his life into mine and because of that he greatly impacted my life and helped to direct me to follow God’s will for my life! I am so thankful for his impact in my life and how he continues to encourage me anytime I get to see him! If Kevin Mock had an impact in your life please comment and let us know how!  Do you have a Kevin Mock in your life or are you a Kevin Mock to someone?
