Why I love Muslims (And You Should Too!)

I can already tell this title has drawn ire and questions from many. Many people would say how can you love Muslims, don’t you know they are terrorists? How can you love those people?! Well, I would simply say that let’s lay aside general assumptions that for the most part are wrong and let’s look at a Biblical response to Islam and Muslims. By the way I am not just saying I love Muslims to get people to click on my blog, I seriously do love Muslims in Christ and I want to tell you why I do and why you should as well.

God loves them.—John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world…” The world would mean every single person past present and future. That means that God loves Muslims! He loved them so much He sent His son to die on the cross for their sin! Simply put, God loves Muslims and wants them to come to Him. He does not condone their sinful actions, but He does love them. Because God loves them, then I as a Christian must love them!
Christ died for them.—John 3:17 says that Christ was sent to the world to save the world. He died on the cross for every single person! Guess what that means- He died on the cross for the sins of every single Muslim. When He died on the cross He paid the price of sin for all people including Muslims! If Christ was willing to die for them, should I not love them and show them the love of Christ!
God wants them to be saved.—2 Peter 3:9 says, “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” God wants all to come to repentance and be saved. God wants the whole world to come to Him. God wants the Muslim world to come to Him and be saved. He sent His Son because of His love for them. Jesus died on the cross for their sins so that if they come to Him they might be saved. He wants them to come to repentance. This is another reason we should love them. God wants them to be saved and by showing them the love of Christ, they can come to repentance.
They have been blinded by Satan.—II Corinthians 4:4 says, “In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.” The god of this world is Satan. Satan has blinded the Muslim population with lies and deceit. He has them believing they can have no hope and cannot get to heaven without working for it. They have been blinded from the truth that through Christ they can be saved. But it is sad that they are blinded and without truth. That is why I love them, because they are blinded by Satan and in need of people to take the truth to them. I love them because they only do what they do because they have been blinded by Satan and do not have the truth!

Muslims get a bad rap these days. You say the word Muslim and many a Christian’s blood boils and their first thought is terrorism. But the truth is most Muslims are not terrorists, they are just normal people in need of a Savior. But you know, the ones that are terrorists— I love them in Christ as well. Because guess what, God loves them too and wants them to come to Him. He wants them to be saved. The only way to help them and change them is through the Gospel and Jesus Christ! I love them enough to give my life to take them the gospel. Why not lay down your prejudice and pick up a heart of love and show them the love of Christ! Why not take them the truth of the Gospel and how they can come to Christ? Because God loves them and wants them to be saved, but we as Christians have labeled them as unlovable and doomed for hell. That is wrong and sinful! They can be saved, but not unless they hear the truth in time! Will you consider giving your life to take the gospel to these needy people? Will you stop hating them and start loving them and showing them the love of Christ and see the impact it will have on their lives? Will you take the good news of the gospel to them and see how it will completely change their lives! I love Muslims because God loves Muslims, and if you are a Christian, you should love Muslims too!
