Not bowing when others are is not “safety first!”

Not bowing when others are is not “safety first!”

Three Hebrew men are in Babylon and they hear the decree that at a specific time when  the music plays, they must bow down and worship Nebuchadnezzar’s great idol. They love God and worship Him alone. They have a choice to make. They can passively bow, but not worship, or they can refuse to bow. They put their safety to the side and refuse to bow. They take a stand for God! Then the king finds out and calls them. He gives them another chance, but these three men tell him they will never bow because they worship the one true God! Nebuchadnezzar gets angry and tells them to heat the furnace hotter than it ever has been heated and to throw them into it! These men put their safety to the side and knew that God could deliver them out of the fire, if He wanted and if not, they would be delivered from the wicked king. They are cast into the furnace and God comes to their aid and rescues them. They are called out of the furnace without any injury to themselves, and they do not even smell like the fire or smoke! God took care of them. Then, they were able to be a witness and testimony to the king. Because of putting their safety to the side, God was glorified and many heard about Him. I am sure these men were able to tell people all about the God of heaven! As Christians, we should be willing to stand up for our God. We should be willing to serve Him, no matter what! But sadly, too often, we put our safety, first and what others think, first. Why not be like these three, Hebrew men and stand for your God! Why not tell others about Christ and not be afraid of the consequences no matter where you are!
