Paul’s Thoughts on the Great Commission: A Minister of the Gospel

A Minister of the Gospel: Colossians 1:23

Colossians 1:23 If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;

Paul is telling us how he could take the Great Commission. He is saying he was made a minster of the gospel. He was given the job of getting the gospel to anyone and everyone he came in contact with. As he looked at the Great Commission he took it personally. He had to tell others about Christ! He knew it was his responsibility because the command made him a minster and distributor of the gospel. The Great Commission is still a command for us today! With the command, we are made ministers of the gospel! We must continue in our faith and step out in faith to take the gospel to the whole world! People are dying and going to hell all around us and it is our responsibility to do something about it! The gospel must be preached to every creature, but we are failing to do the task appointed unto us! Will you take the Great Commission seriously? Will you see that you are made a minister? This word minister means a servant or attendant of the gospel. Meaning it is your job to declare the gospel to not just those around you, but the whole world! Paul would not stop preaching the gospel until everyone heard and we must have that same mindset that we will preach the gospel until either everyone has heard, Christ comes back or we die! Will you become a minister of the gospel and take the Great Commission personally?
