A challenge to be a witness

II Corinthians 4:3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:

If you are a Christian your life has been completely changed! You are no longer heading towards hell, rather you now have life eternal. That should change you. That should make you want to tell others about the change that was made in your life. But sadly, today so few Christians are willing to be a witness. They are unwilling to share the gospel to a lost and dying world! Well, the challenge has been set. You are challenged to be a witness! Why should you be a witness? 

1. We have been commanded— Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
   This is one of five times where it is recorded in Scripture for us to take the gospel to the world. This is the final command of Christ. He asks us to take the message of salvation to the whole world. Yet today there are over 7.6 billion people living on the earth and so few have ever heard the gospel message. We must take seriously the command of our Lord and Savior! Will you obey the command of Christ and be a witness to those around you?
2. People are dying and going to hell—II Corinthians 4:3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost
    Not only are we commanded to get the gospel to the world, but people are dying and going to hell every second of every day! What is really sad is so many go to hell without having a chance to hear the gospel, because so few have accepted the challenge to be a witness. God does not want people to die and go to hell. He wants all to come to him. The people you see on a daily basis, if you are not sharing the gospel with them, who will? If they do not hear the gospel they will die and go to hell! Will you accept the challenge to be a witness because people are dying and going to hell and we must do something about it! If you hide the gospel you are hiding it from those who are lost and on their way to hell!
3. God wants all to be saved I Timothy 2:4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth
   God wants all men to be saved. Because God wants all to be saved, that should motivate us to action. That should make us want to be witness and share the good news all around the world! God does not have to use us, but He wants to use us to share with the world how He loves them and died for them! It is God’s will that all be saved. If this is God’s heart and desire it should also be our heart and our desire to be a witness. Will you take seriously the challenge to be a witness because it is God’s will all be saved?

There are many more reasons why we should accept the challenge to be a witness but we will not cover them here. But as you can see there is a great need for the gospel all around the world. Christ has changed your life and you should be willing to share that message with the whole world. Will you take seriously the command of Christ and be a witness. I challenge you to be a witness for God. I challenge you this week to share the gospel with one of your friends, family members and a stranger. Will you accept the challenge or will you be like so many others sitting on the sideline will millions die and go to hell?
